Cate Blanchett: gets her star in Hollywood
Australian actress Cate Blanchett has accepted the role of an Oscar-winner honored with her own star on Hollywood's old-school Walk of Fame.
Joking about where she thinks her star will someday end up, Cate told press, “I’m sure they’ll move me down to the men’s urinal several blocks down, but it’s incredible.”
While deeply committed to theatre and film in her home country, Blanchett has found the time to build an A-list international film career, including nominations for many Academy Awards.
Now 39, the mother of three and winner of an Oscar in 2005 for her portrayal of Katharine Hepburn in "The Aviator," last January she was nominated for best actress in "Elizabeth: The Golden Age" as well as for best supporting actress for her gender-bending turn as Bob Dylan in "I'm Not There."

molly sims diamond bikini
Her increase in popularity is mainly linked to this swimsuit photo release, which became very popular during that time.Even today there are many teens that search for Molly Sims Diamond Bikini.
Actress Molly Sims made fashion history when she wore a truly unique swimsuit comprised of over 150 carats of D color Flawless clarity diamonds held together by thin strands of platinum. Susan Rosen designed the world’s most expensive bikini in conjunction with Steinmetz Diamonds, for the 2006 Sports Illustrated issue.
The size and quality of the diamonds in the bikini were extraordinary and included a 51-carat pear shape diamond, a 30-carat emerald cut diamond, a pair of 15-carat rounds and a pear of 8-carat pear-shaped diamonds. This sparkling swimsuit contained no fabric, only diamonds and platinum, so took a lot of nerve and a special body to wear. Molly Sims said in an interview with Sports Illustrated that she thought $30 million "would go a little farther" than the skimpy bikini that she wore at the photo shoot.
2009 grammy nominations
The longest award show in the history of award shows has revealed its nominees for the 2009 Grammy Awards.
The Grammys generally come in just ahead of the Tonys as the most boring awards show of the year. That said, we appreciate the Recording Academy's efforts to pump it up, and were pleasantly entertained by last night's Nomination Concert.
The Foo Fighers cover of "You're So Vain" brought a angsty vibe to the old Carly Simon classic, and our girl crush on co-host Taylor Swift was solidified with her rendition of Brenda Lee's "I'm Sorry". Take that, Joe Jonas.
As far as the nominations go, the nods seemed to reflect sales as much as singing chops, but what else is new. Here are the nominees in some of the top categories. For a full list, head to grammy.com.

Kathy Griffin: A Fifth Season Of "D-List" Is Happening
Kathy Griffin Commits To A Fifth Season Of "D-List".Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List, which is a relief.
There was actually some question as to whether the inimitable Kathy Griffin would do a fifth season of D-List for Bravo. While the network claimed back in September that it had locked Kathy into a deal, she subsequently told the Chicago Sun-Times that she hadn't come to terms with Bravo and was in fact talking to another cable network as well as a broadcast network.
Obviously, things ultimately worked out with Bravo because just today the network announced that it has indeed signed Kathy to a one-year deal, which she confirms, and it includes a fifth season of Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List and calls for her to tape two comedy specials during her current nationwide tour as well as host the A-List Awards in 2009.
Kathy tells Variety that the deal was settled after "a bloodbath negotiation where I won none of my battles."
That's hard to believe. Kathy seems like a shrewd businesswoman, and I bet she got everything she wanted and more—at least I hope so because she deserves it.
So what can we expect to see on D-List's fifth season? Kathy tells Us Weekly that it is going to be more celebrity-oriented.
Asked to name some of the celebrity guests, Kathy said, "I can't tell you, but please call Bravo! I'm actually getting a lot of people that I want to, and it's really, really exciting."
Forget the celebrities. I'm most excited to see Kathy every week when the show returns to Bravo's lineup in 2009.
How about you? Are you glad to hear that Kathy is doing more D-List for Bravo?

miley cyrus vanity fair photo
The last time Miley Cyrus appeared in Vanity Fair a lot of people were very upset that the fifteen year old Miley Cyrus appeared in photographs that came close to drawing the line of obscene considering Miley age at the time. But it turns out the Hannah Montana star would love to work with the Vanity Fair photographer, Annie Leibovitz, again. The Miley Cyrus photos did what they were suppose to do which is sell a lot of magazines so I guess in that sense the Vanity Fair photos did what they were suppose to do.
Miley Cyrus vanity fair photos have spread like fire. The internet is flooded with search terms such as - miley cyrus vanity fair, miley cyrus vanity fair photos, annie leibovitz, miley cyrus photos.

katie couric new haircut
Today I recevied a msn message about Katie Couric’s new haircut. How do you think of it.
Here’s a picture of Katie Couric’s new hair. Katie Couric’s hair is not going to win anymore viewers, or haircut fans. The new Katie Couric haircut is Hillary Clinton ‘esq at its worse. Did you see it?
Many loved her old hair style, longer, softer, younger. This one is well — it puts a “hair-raising new look that put the “ew” in the evening news” says the Daily News.
But as the paper states, “The veteran journalist has always made it a point not to let her style overshadow her skills. This short cut once again makes her appearance the big news story.”
